OnePlus teased new watch concepts is creating a lot of buzz. On its website, OnePlus has started teasing two new launches, the first one is the new OnePlus 15R smartphone and another is anonymous OnePlus smartwatch. While OnePlus has not been specific about the details, it has officially begun teasing it, along with a brand-new OnePlus Watch.
The OnePlus 15R smartphone is a known quantity looking at the teaser image again; this assumption is based on the previous R-series devices from the company.
OnePlus 15R Smartphone Launch Teaser
The UK website of OnePlus recently posted a teaser image showcasing OnePlus 15R’s back. Though the image is quite dark 15R looks very similar to the OnePlus Ace 6 that had a China launch last month. The Ace 6 though has a tad bit larger display. However, it does not have the telephoto camera on the back, though it does have other three cameras on the 13R.
OnePlus 15R Smartwatch A Rebrand
There are rumors floating that the OnePlus 15R could possibly a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which had a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a 7,800mAh battery with 120W charging, Ram was about 16GB. Considering this if the OnePlus 15R ends up being based on the Ace 6, it could be quite a powerful mid-range handset.
If history were to repeat itself, the OnePlus 15R is just going to end up being the Ace 6 with minor cosmetic differences. It’s possible OnePlus chooses to swap out the cameras with better ones but that’s more wishful thinking than anything currently supported by evidence. Regardless, you are still getting two cameras at the back this year despite the 13R finally making the jump to having a dedicated telephoto last year. It seems OnePlus is determined on having worse camera hardware on every 15 series devices than its predecessor.
OnePlus 15R Release Date and Price
No official announcement about the release or pricing for the OnePlus 15R has been done so far. Just to get an idea the OnePlus 15 starting price in U.S. is $800, so the 15R should be cheaper. The OnePlus 13R, starts at $600.
OnePlus Unnamed New Smartwatch
OnePlus is also teasing a new smartwatch on its European websites. The page merely shows an outline for the device like a sketch without any detail, not even a name; OnePlus is merely referring it to as the ‘New Watch’. Looking at the sketch one can decipher few details about what to expect, the display can be round with a button in the top right corner. Again, as it is just an outline, one cannot be sure of the material used: stainless steel or aluminium.
