Apple recently launched the health and workout service named Apple Fitness Plus. This service is an exclusive collection of workouts that one can access on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV device. A significant feature is that it works only with Apple Watch. As such, subscribers can witness their workout metrics on any screen they are using.
Apple Fitness+
The launch was announced at Apple’s 2020 event along with the watchOS 7, Apple Watch 6, and Apple Watch SE, which have premium health-tracking features. The primary feature of the Apple Fitness+ is that one can select the workout they want. There is a pre-recorded video of each workout with music, time, and trainer to choose any workout specific to their moods or gym class schedules.
Apple Fitness Plus Release
Apple Fitness Plus program is due for release on December 14, 2020, across Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. It will cost $9.99 / £9.99 / AU$14.99 every month or $79.99 / £79.99 / AU$119.99 every year. However, if a person signs up for the premium service on Apple One, then they will get the Fitness Plus, along with News Plus, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, and Apple Music and a magnum iCloud storage at just $29.95 / £29.95 / AU$39.95 per month. Additionally, if a person purchases an Apple Watch, they will get three months of Fitness Plus subscription free.
Apple Fitness Plus Features
The Apple Fitness+ has lots of interactive videos across different disciplines, from a treadmill run workout to a core-based workout. One can also play them from the Apple tablet, phone, or a connected Apple TV. The Apple Fitness+ on the Apple Watch will highlight information like the total amount of calories burned, the workout time, and the heart rate. When the instructor wants the person to focus on the heart rate, that metric will immediately expand on the Apple Fitness+ feature to make it more prominent. Additionally, trainers can also stress various metrics of a person’s schedule.
The only disadvantage is that the Apple Fitness+ cannot be integrated with friends or family, nor can a user set any challenges with other users. However, users can use the ‘Burn Bar’, which will highlight how far ahead the user is on an average in a specific workout. The Burn Bar is equalized both for weight and height and reflects the fitness metrics. The Fitness Plus platform also helps create a striking balance in the workouts- when a person opens up an app, they will see the suggested videos. If a person is into a high-intensity interval training workout, the feature will guide them to stretching and cross-training exercises.
Apple Fitness Plus Trainers
The Apple Fitness Plus feature has several new fitness trainers from varied disciplines and expertise. The trainers appear in multiple videos over time so that there is a balanced cohesion between the workout sessions. The feature also allows the user to look for favorite trainers.
Apple Fitness+ Requirements
A user would require an Apple Watch to enjoy the Fitness Plus app subscription, that too the Apple Watch 3 and above to use it and an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV device with running iOS 14 / iPadOS 14 / tvOS 14 to access the fitness service. If the person already has an Apple Watch, they need to ensure that the device has the latest watchOS 7 software. The Fitness Plus program is also compatible with GymKit.
The Apple Fitness+ is an efficient fitness program perfect for fitness lovers and conscious of maintaining a regular fitness program.
