It has been a few years since Apple started using its own Apple Silicon chips for its Mac devices and thus far, Apple has launched the M1 and M2 series of chips in the market. Now, the Cupertino-based technology giant has some exciting news for its loyal fans. As per reports, the company is working on the third generation of Apple Silicon chips, and the Apple M3 Pro chipset could come with 12 CPU cores.

The company is all set to introduce some new Macs to its portfolio this year. As far as the release date of the Apple M3 Pro, according to the latest report, it could be somewhere around the end of 2023 or early 2024.

The new Apple M3 Pro chip is said to feature a 12-core processor and an 18-core GPU, which would be a vast increase over the 8-core processor and 14-core GPU found in the M2 Pro chip.

In addition to the performance boost, the M3 Pro chip is also expected to offer a great many improvements. These specs include support for up to 36 GB of RAM, which would be a significant increase over the 16 GB of RAM that is supported by the M2 Pro chip. The M3 Pro chip is also expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s 3 nm process, which allows for even greater performance and efficiency, not denying the fact that would make the Apple M3 Pro chip one of the most powerful chips on the market, and it could lead to significant improvements in the performance of Macs that are equipped with it. The Apple M3 Pro chip is also expected to offer improved graphics performance for video editing, 3D rendering, and various demanding tasks which could be a great help for creative professionals.

The new chipset is envisioned for future 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. As there would be gains in efficiency, their battery life should also lead to improvement. Of note, the new CPU may also have a beefy version with more CPU and GPU cores.

There are rumors about a possible launch of an Apple M3 Pro-powered iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch display.
