ASUS gaming sub-brand, Republic of Gamers (ROG) introduced a series of new gaming products at Computex 2018, Taiwan. Out of the complete gaming portfolio, ASUS made a groundbreaking announcement with unveiling ROG Phone, the first ROG gaming Smartphone.
ASUS ROG Phone is also the world’s first Smartphone with an innovative GameCool 3D vapor-chamber cooling system. The 6-inch gaming Smartphone is designated to accompany serious gamers only. ASUS describes ROG Phone as “this is a phone built to win”.
ASUS Chairman, Jonney Shih, representing the company at Computex 2018, shared, “Today is a celebration of those who dare to be different. Twelve years ago, ROG was founded out of our desire to create a full lineup of ultimate gear designed for gaming victory. Now, through the dedication of ROG engineers, designers, professional gamers and enthusiasts around the world, we have achieved these goals and distilled them into the essence of ROG.”

Built from scratch, ASUS gaming Smartphone is made of a combination of tough, precision-crafted 2.5D- and 3D-curved Corning Gorilla glass, the diamond-cut highlights and copper intricacies. Don McGuire, Vice President, Product Marketing, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. spoke onstage, “Qualcomm Technologies and ASUS have enjoyed great successes over many years and we are thrilled to be at the core of their newest cutting-edge device, the ROG Phone.”
ROG Phone Charging Port
Charging a phone, while play mode is on, is a completely mood-down idea. ROG took a notice of this problem and the ROG gaming Smartphone comes with an additional side-mounted USB-C connector that can be used in landscape mode. So, now charge the phone while playing without any hindrance. This port also supports HDMI output, Gigabit LAN and headphones. There are another side-mounted USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack located on the edges of the phone.
ASUS resolved another complaint of hardcore gamers, that is, lack of physical buttons. Asus ROG Phone is designed to give a console-like experience. It has placed ultrasonic buttons around the edges with two on the left edge corners and one on the bottom right edge that act as Airtriggers. These Airtriggers are ready for all sorts of actions required on the screen – aiming, firing, inventory selection, steering, or navigating. To feel all the actions on hands, ROG Phone is integrated with an advanced haptic actuator built in for powerful force feedback.
