If you’re still playing Cyberpunk 2077—-we most definitely are—then the new 2.0 update might bring both exciting and inconvenient tidings for all users, whether on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. The Cyberpunk Technical Perks have been spruced up with the update, one of the five areas to upgrade your character V, the other attributes being Body, Reflexes, Intelligence, and Cool. The Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 patch was released on 21 September, with an additional Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion released on 26 September for those looking to buy the next phase of the game.Â
If you’re a fan of the Cyberpunk Edgerunner show, the Phantom Liberty expansion will feature many easter eggs, from adopting the fighting style of Edgerunner characters to David’s jacket becoming an available item. The integration of the game and anime means very exciting things for players who like a good storyline to go with the action. Cyberpunk makers recommend starting a new playthrough to get a top-tier experience of the changes, so if you’re rethinking your character build and investments, here are some Cyberpunk perks on the Technical tree that you could invest in.

Bolt
The Bolt Cyberpunk 2077 Technical Perk is easier to achieve than many others because of its lack of prerequisites. Again a 3-level Cyberpunk perk, the first allows a 20 percent charge speed boost for tech weapons, and the second level provides a 15 percent damage boost on charged shots with the same tech weapons. The true power of this Technical Perk, however, comes at level 3 where you can release bolt shots. These heavy-hitting attacks cause 30 percent additional damage with the 50 percent reduced penalty for penetrating cover. There is no denying the importance of this perk in Cyberpunk 2077.

Chain Lightning
We’re starting off strong with what might be our favorite one of the Cyberpunk Technical Perks, the Chan Lightning Effect. This wonderful damage booster only applies to tech weapons so if that’s how you like to operate then the Bolt damage you’ve already completed max level on will deal electrical damage to enemies, doing crowd damage to up to 3 enemies nearby. We are always on board with taking down as many people in one go as possible and this crowd control appeals to us very much. Now it isn’t always useful as not all enemies are vulnerable to electric damage, but when it works, it really does work.

Health Freak
Especially if you’re new to the game or not as efficient with your aim and strategy just yet, you might need your health items available to you more quickly. The 2.0 update ensures your supply of health items and grenades does not run out but there is a cooldown that you have to wait out. While not a long wait, it can slow down your gaming experience just a little. This Cyberpunk perk provides an 8 percent research speed for health items and grenades at level 1, while level 2 has two elements. The first is a +1 health item charge, and the second is a whopping 150 percent recharge speed boost for health items when outside of combat. Admittedly, it can make sure you’re always ready to jump into your next battle quickly. For this perk, Glutton for War must be fully upgraded.

License to Chrome
The three-stage License to Chrome Cyberpunk Technical Perk might feel like a mild start but there’s no beating performance by simplicity. The first level allows a 10 percent boost to all cyberware stat modifiers, level 2 adds 40 points to your Armor defense, and level 3 unlocks a new cyberware slot for the skeleton. Each level brings something new to the build and while the first two allow a performance boost, the last one allows you to bring additional cyberware to the game that can really change how you play and perform. We love to keep an eye out for ways to increase our numbers this way in Cyberpunk 2077. The attribute requirement does require All Things Cyber to be fully upgraded.

Driver Update
If you are going to max out on All Things Cyber to work on License to Chrome anyway, then the Driver Update is also a valuable Cyberpunk Technical Perk to consider. The perk is a small one and doesn’t have multiple levels to it, but what it does do is allow all your cyberware to gain an additional stat modifier. This is a useful boost to your arsenal without overcomplicating matters too much or investing too much energy into analyzing the levels and benefits. Not all additional stats might be what you’re looking for, but a win is a win when it comes to gains.
Attribute Level Requirement: Technical Ability 9
Of course, there are many other Technical Perks that Cyberpunk 2077 offers that might be better suited to your play style, like the Gearhead perk that provides greater vehicle health and damage, or field medic if you really need faster access to health items during combat. Whatever path you choose, the Cyberpunk 2077 perks can be mixed and matched quite efficiently to make the experience enjoyable for you.
