Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2: Price and Release Date

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be released on September 18 with pre-orders starting from September 2. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is priced at $1,999 and has 256GB of storage and 12GB RAM.  Samsung is also offering a Galaxy Z Premier Service for the Z Fold 2, including on-demand concierge support from the experts. Additionally, Z Fold 2 owners will also get a membership to FoundersCard, access a prepared meal from a Michelin star restaurant, or access a slew of golf clubs.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2: Design

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a more extensive exterior display with a cover screen of 6.2 inches. The interior display stands at 7.6 inches for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, compared to the 7.3 inches for the earlier model.  There are also many improvements in durability and usability. This includes a full Ultra-Thin Glass display, giving a better touchscreen feel to the users and a Hideaway hinge that uses sweeper technology and dust-resistant. The device’s hinge uses a CAM mechanism, which lets the user position the screen from multiple angles. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available in two colors of Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black. The phone is also slightly heavier at 9.9 ounces.

The 7.6-inch main display has a 120Hz refresh rate, which gives an overall enhanced performance and smooth scroll. The cover display and OLED screen at 6.2 inches are big enough for using any app and perform any task.

Galaxy Z Fold 2: Software and Flex mode

The Flex mode of the new phone gives the foldable feature ample versatility. This means that the user would have controls or settings on one side of the display and content on the other. According to Samsung, the Flex Mode is supported by several Samsung apps, including Camera, Video call, Gallery, Video player, Clock, and Calendar. Also, Google too supports the Flex mode with YouTube and Google Duo. Samsung is trying to collaborate with third-party developers to integrate and create Flex mode optimized apps.

Another distinctive feature of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is multitasking. With the enhanced Multi-Active Window feature, users can open up to three apps simultaneously and create presets called App Pairs. Samsung’s App continuity feature also exists from the original Galaxy Fold device. This means that one can start an app on the cover display itself, open the main display, and again pick up wherefrom they left off initially.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a 12MP primary wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree view, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom feature. The Dual Preview feature of the phone lets the subjects see how they would look using the front display while the cameraman shoots the photo.  Another advantage of the phone is that users can prop up the Galaxy Z Fold 2 phone like a laptop mode, and it will keep the subject of the photo in focus when shooting video with a dual feature called Auto framing. With the Flex Mode, one can also review the recent pictures on the bottom half of the screen simultaneously while maintaining the top part’s live preview. The Night mode of the phone is also pretty fair.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 865 Plus processor and 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Overall, the Samsung Z Fold 2 device offers smooth performance. In terms of 5G, the phone supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz flavors.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2has a 4,500 mAh battery that can last 10 hours and 10 minutes with constant web surfing. The Z Fold 2 supports 25W fast charging, wireless charging, and also PowerShare reverse charging.
