Wearables are shifting their focus heavily towards health and medical features. Adding to the list, Huawei recently launched a Wheelchair mode for the Watch GT 6 series. The company announced a new feature via X, claiming to enhance the comfort and productivity of disabled people. Huawei Watch GT 6 is the first smartwatch to feature a Wheelchair mode option.

It is for the first time that wheelchair users will be able to track their movement and workouts with accuracy. This mode will not only track their movements and health vitals but also provide 24/7 support to make tasks easier and more feasible for users.

Huawei’s Innovation to Gain Global Trust

Last November, Zhu Phing, President of Huawei’s business marketing and sales services, said that the company is inspired by Majid Rashed, the Asian Paralympic Committee President. He said, “The company is developing an innovative and first-of-its-kind feature, Wheelchair mode.” The feature has finally released and is creating buzz in the wearable industry.

Huawei is expecting to boost sales with new features and global trust. The company stated, “As a leader in technological innovation, we embrace our duty to empower all, not just the many, but the overlooked and the underdeserved, ensuring a future where every individual thrives in health, dignity, and vitality.

Is Wheelchair Mode the Next Big Shift in Wearable Tech?

The Huawei Watch GT 6 series has been pushing the bar for style and stamina since its release. The activity ring of the watch consists of several workouts and physical movement options, making it one of the best options for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and freaks. Huawei’s GT 6 series is already giving strong competition to Apple Watches when it comes to stamina and health tracking.

With the addition of Wheelchair mode, Huawei is getting ahead in the race. While other top competitors like Samsung and Apple are focusing on cardiovascular issues, BP, and ECG tracking, Huawei is taking a completely different route to win the race.

Although the company has announced the mode, the rollout is scheduled for December 2026. We can verify the claims of the company once it is available to all its users.
