Is the MacBook Pro a gaming laptop? Certainly not! First and foremost, if you’re going for a gaming laptop, you’d know that the Apple MacBook is a productivity powerhouse and far from being a gaming scion. You’re likely to go with Alienware 17 R4, Razer Blade GeForce GTX or HP’s Omen X. Don’t be surprised, HP wants to win with its line of Omen PC gaming products and it’s dead serious about it. Shown off during Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany is the new 17-inch Omen X, HP’s most powerful gaming laptop till date.

HP Omen X -A Laptop for Power Gamers?

HP is giving us a tantalizing taste of the well-known Voodoo PC gaming brand with its Omen line up. The OMEN X laptop comes in 15- and 17-inch variations, both equipped with NVIDIA G-Sync and optional, overclocked NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card. So, feel free to upgrade RAM, the SSDs or make your own adjustments.

The base model is equipped with a GTX 1070, 16GB of RAM, an i7-7700HQ processor, a 256 GB SSD, a 1TB hard drive, NVIDIA G-Sync and a 1080p 120Hz display for $1,999. The heavy variant comes with a GTX 1080, 32 GB of RAM, an i7-7820HK processor, 2TB SSD storage, a 1TB hard drive, and a 4K display, and NVIDIA G-Sync for $3,699.

In addition, it has an aluminum chassis, mechanical keys with 2.5mm of travel, two Thunderbolt ports, and RBG lighting. At 10.69 pounds, there’s no scope of the laptop getting confused with an ultrabook. One of the most notable features is the overclockability of the laptop. One can boost the CPU, GPU and RAP from the pre-installed Omen Command Center, without messing around with the BIOS.

We can’t wait to get our hands on one of these to see if it’s worth the hefty price tag. For many gamers like me, the upgrades part is enough to tempt us to consider the Omen X, when it launches in November.
