What we loved most about Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is that it’s lightweight and powerful. It’s no coincidence that with Core i7-11370H processor and dedicated graphics cards, the trackpad is a productivity powerhouse. It ticks all the boxes in terms of mobility and sturdiness it’s sleek and made of aluminum.

It’s nearly impossible to beat this configuration for the price. The battery life is top-notch and the keyboard feels pretty good to type on with little flex. To help you make the right decision, here’s a three-minute Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro review.

Design

This Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is built with machined aluminum and this is a good thing overall. However, you can find the lid a little bit bendable and the keyboard deck that has some flex. These features are found in much less expensive laptops, but we cannot change this thing in this Lenovo laptop. You must simply get used to the less durable design.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i reserves the premium price tag for its model.

This 14-inch laptop weighs two and a half pounds and is 0.67 inches thin. Overall, the laptop is easy to carry around and you can be satisfied with the mobility.

It is available in two colors. These are light silver and slate gray. It has simple angles and lines which give the laptop a nondescript appearance. It resembles the minimalistic design of modern laptops that you can find with other brands.

When it comes to connectivity, the laptop offers two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, and there is also a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and 3.5mm audio jack. You will not find an HDMI or SD card slot, which is a little bit disappointing. However, there are wireless connections in the form of Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6.

Display

The 14-inch display is a 16:10 IPS display that comes with a “2.8K” resolution. This kind of resolution is a 2,880 x 1,800 option. The display is bright and sharp, and there is enough contrast between the colors. You will notice the dynamic colors that are not oversaturated and this is the biggest advantage of the screen.

If you want to change the resolution of the display, you can switch from 2.8K to 2.2K. With this option, the display will run at 60Hz. This IdeaPad has a brighter display than some of the more expensive models, and this is something to consider if you want to buy this laptop.

You will find wider colors than average, and these solutions are presented in the form of 100% of sRGB and 80% of AdobeRGB. The colors are extremely accurate and you can experience a huge advantage in these color options.

Performance

This laptop comes with an Intel Core i7-11370H CPU, which is a very interesting processor. It is fast enough for productivity, but it is still not fast enough for creative applications.

You can enjoy some of the features this IdeaPad offers to its users. You can switch from intelligent cooling, battery-saving, and performance modes that are very effective. The laptop offers speedy productivity that can serve you well in the lighter performance tasks.

However, you can do more if you set the laptop to performance mode. You will handle the creativity tasks a little bit better and you will see the power of this mode.

It is important to mention this is not a gaming laptop. With Intel Iris Xe graphics, it manages to make only 22 frames per second, which is not enough for the demanding games. You can use it for some older game titles or the newer ones with lower resolution and lower graphical settings.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro Review: Final Thoughts

With a superior display and good performance, this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro comes with a price tag that is reserved for premium models. It is a laptop with slightly lower built quality, but other functions are good enough to put it next to the premium models in this class of laptops.
