In October 2015, Sundar Pichai’s company announced that Google Podcasts would be available on Google Play Music. The company has been working since then with the podcasters and podcast networks so they could add their shows. According to a news source, Google Podcasts will launch on the 18th of April, this Monday.

The information is yet to be confirmed by Google. We’ve already been subjected to several hoaxes regarding the arrival of Google Podcasts on Google Play Music. For instance, Bill Simmons, the famous podcaster sent a tweet notifying the launch of Google Podcasts in February on Play Music. But this time, it seems Google is really planning to fill in its major feature that has been missing for so long.

The information arrives through a newsletter that was delivered to subscribers. Apparently, the news of this launch was supposed to remain private until Monday. The National Public Radio has been working with the search engine giant to offer a fresh experience to public radio. The technology newsletter also reassures that even if Google Podcasts aren’t music technically, it will continue to function within the Play Music app.

Many users have been reportedly claiming of witnessing a brand new section podcast since February 2016. And, the claims do not end here. They have reported of listening utility pop-up in the version of current Play Music app. The interface of the podcast is almost similar to the existing application. It will allow users to automatically download podcasts and instantly notify them when a fresh episode arrives. There’s a particular section underlining curated choices of listening within the app.

Play Music app for Android is most likely to receive an early update i.e. before Monday. It will apparently feature functionality for the podcast and a fresh icon of the app to match the latest colorful design. The web interface of Google Play Music (Play Music Podcasts) has already received a change that features a new icon and a different orange shade.

There are no further details available to fetch from the accidental disclosure of National Public Radio. Although, the newsletter points out that after some time, Google Podcasts will be arriving on other platforms as well. So, iOS and web users can expect the arrival as soon as possible once it debuts on Google Play Music.

Most avid fans of podcasts have managed just fine without the support of official feature from Google so far. But, in case, you loathe swapping between applications for audio needs or you simply prefer Google apps, this feature is going to be a great addition to your smartphone.

Google has evidently been testing the interface for Google Podcasts since months now. Time and again, some users have noticed it go live inside the app for Android already. The majority of individuals have been anticipating the feature to be accessible for everyone as soon as possible. Finally, their wish turns true.
