Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus features

The Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus has a touch display and usual nav buttons.

As per Garmin, the InReach Mini 3 Plus is designed for “rugged backcountry communication”. The Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus specifications includes a compact, waterproof build and up to 330 hours of battery life in tracking mode. Garmin has adds a color touchscreen interface, it also has a built-in microphone and speaker. With Garmin Messenger app connectivity will have no issue.

Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus Specs

The Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus has mic and speaker, that makes it possible to send short voice messages or record voice memos through the device and also hear the replies back through all over satellite. The device can send photos too, though your phone is required to capture and upload them to the Messenger app. One important update to the Garmin InReach Mini 3 Plus is when you send voice notes it works even if your phone battery dies.

Garmin uses the mic & speaker to enable voice commands, too, letting you trigger certain features like check-ins or turning on LiveTrack without needing to use the touchscreen.

Mini 3 Plus SOS button

The device has the same Garmin’s hallmark SOS feature, powered by GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination, an SOS button that sends an emergency message and your GPS location to a 24/7 Garmin Response team. This is a fantastic feature for safety and situational awareness in remote dive operations.

It also has a touchscreen to make replies to responders easier.

It’s also the first InReach device we know of to have an MIL-STD-810 rating for thermal, shock, and water damage, with an IP67 rating instead of IPX7 for the Messenger Plus and Mini 2. This should help it survive falls, though the display only has “chemically strengthened glass.”

Garmin has not yet released official dive-specific accessories for the Mini 3 Plus, but compatibility with standard housings and tethering solutions makes it a promising option for surface communication and expedition support.
