NVIDIA Corp. on Monday officially announced its most powerful graphics cards, GeForce RTX 2000 series at Gamescom 2018. The company unveiled three next-generation, premium GPUs named GeForce RTX 2070, GeForce RTX 2080 and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.

The all-new GeForce graphics cards are built on the latest NVIDIA Turing architecture and a radical RTX platform.  The RTX 2000 graphics cards blend together real-time ray tracing technology, artificial intelligence, and programmable shading to offer up to six times faster performance when compared to the previous-generation GPUs.

Designed specifically to boost PC gaming experience, this is for the very first time that the everyday consumers will get hold of such high-end technology.

“Turing opens up a new golden age of gaming, with realism only possible with ray tracing, which most people thought was still a decade away,” NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said at Europe’s biggest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment.

NVIDIA stock prices soar about 3 percent after the announcement of the fastest gaming GPUs.

NVIDIA New Graphics Cards Features

During his keynote at Gamescom 2018, Huang underlined a fact that “this [RTX 2000] is the single greatest leap that the company has ever taken in a single generation.”

Starting with the real-time ray tracing feature, also known as RTX, is a technique in which when the light intersects with objects on the computer screen, it models real-time reflections. It delivers a lifelike gaming experience with new visuals and cinematic effects.

The NVIDIA Shadowplay feature on the RTX platform will allow gamers to shoot and share high-quality gameplay videos, screenshots, and Livestream with their friends on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.

The NVIDIA Ansel framework converts each screenshot into a piece of creative expression with a powerful in-game photo mode and lets the users share them directly on Facebook, Google Photos, and Imgur. The gamers can select to capture pictures from 360 degrees, High-Dynamic Ranging, super-resolution and stereo options.

The GeForce RTX platform moreover overlays enhanced virtual reality (VR) possibilities to feel a new level of realism with amazing detailing.

“The breakthrough is a hybrid rendering model that boosts today’s computer graphics with the addition of lightning-fast ray-tracing acceleration and AI. RTX is going to define a new look for computer graphics. Once you see an RTX game, you can’t go back.”

Furthermore, the new lineup of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2000 graphics cards brings 4K gaming experience and the smoothest gameplay at refresh rates up to 240 Hz.
