The OnePlus 9RT smartphone is the latest phone from the company, and it might be the last phone that we will see in the company’s 9 series. There are improvements when we consider the previous version that came in the form of a OnePlus 9R, and these improvements are related to the design, SoC, and main rear camera. Those who owned some of the OnePlus 9 series of phones will notice the main differences between the phones. In this case, we have a solid design, great camera features, and a good balance between the price and the quality.Â
Design
The phone is available in two colors, and you can find Hacker Black and a more flashy Nano Silver. When it comes to the Hacker Black version, it has a matte and sandstone-like finish. The back panel looks good, and it is smooth when you touch it. It does leave marks when you touch it, but these can be wiped away.Â
The phone weighs 198.5g, and it has a 6.62-inch AMOLED display. The display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and the resolution is full-HD+, which makes the display very useful. However, the display still misses the LTPO-type panel option that is available on the OnePlus 9 Pro.
Specifications and Software
In some of the OnePlus 9 review articles, you can find out that the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is a very powerful SoC. The same chip is integrated into the OnePlus 9RT phone, and this makes the phone better quality than some similar options when it comes to the best Android phones.Â
The OnePlus 9RT uses 5G bands, and it has three Wi-Fi antennas. In the more occasional cases, the phones have two antennas for Wi-Fi, which makes the OnePlus 9RT a better phone for gaming and similar activities. It also offers a better cooling system, which is good for heat dissipation.Â
At the moment, the OnePlus 9RT comes with OxygenOS 11.3, and this Oxygen OS is still based on Android 11. It is not known when the next version that will be based on Android 12 will arrive, but we believe it will happen soon. Until this happens, you can have a similar experience with 9RT as with other recent OnePlus phones.
Performance and Battery Life
Some of the flagship features of the OnePlus phones are speedy software and a rugged body. We can see these features in 9RT and there are many performance capabilities that come in combination with good battery life.Â
Switching between apps is seamless, and you can play videos while using the HDR capability of the display. There is also the Dolby Atmos setting that lets you choose the different sound options, which is especially important if you want to play your favorite music.Â
You can play different games thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, and this solution offers many capabilities in the most popular games, such as Call of Duty: Mobile or Fortnite.Â
When it comes to the battery life, you can easily use the phone for a day and a half, while using all the options together, including gaming, social apps, the camera, and calls. When you want to charge the phone, you can do it in less than 30 minutes thanks to the fast charging solution.
Cameras
The OnePlus 9RT has a 50-megapixel sensor, and there are also 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras at the back of the phone. We have a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and this combination of cameras makes the phone very useful for everyday filming or picture taking.
Our Verdict
We can say that the OnePlus 9RT has a great design and good battery life. It is a little bit pricier for the performance it offers, but you will be satisfied with the whole package this phone offers to users.Â
