The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts of a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels. It supports an adaptable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and can light up to a peak brightness of 1750 nits. To add to its premium design, the S22 Ultra’s display also features curved edges. It is noteworthy to know that the initial rumors suggesting that the S23 Ultra might have curved edges at the top and bottom, have not panned out to be true.
The latest Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra consists of the same 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels and an adaptable refresh rate of 120Hz, just like its predecessor. Albeit, it delivers more stunning visual quality. The peak brightness remains untouched at 1750 nits, slightly lower than the 2000 nits achieved by the Apple iPhone 14 Pro in 2022.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra: Design and Dimensions
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra maintains a similar design to its predecessor, with slightly reduced curved edges to maximize screen real estate. Featuring a premium build with rounded edges, the rear camera lenses are positioned in the top left corner.
Like the S22 Ultra, the S23 Ultra includes a built-in S Pen, maintaining its role as the successor to the Galaxy Note series. Furthermore, both devices offer IP68 water and dust resistance.

In terms of dimensions, the S23 Ultra measures 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm, which is nearly identical to the S22 Ultra’s measurements of 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9mm. However, the S23 Ultra is slightly wider and heavier, but these differences are not noticeable by everyday users.Â

The S23 Ultra introduces a change in resolution compared to its predecessors. It boasts a 200-megapixel main sensor, which Samsung has highlighted as a significant feature of this device. The main sensor, along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses, enables the S23 Ultra to achieve 3x and 10x zoom, just like its predecessor. Additionally, it offers 100x Space Zoom capability. The S23 Ultra also introduces new features such as the ability to shoot 8K video at 30fps, AstroHyperlapse for capturing moving stars, and ExpertRAW, which provides a 50-megapixel RAW file instead of the 12-megapixel output of the S22 Ultra. It’s worth noting that the latter two features will also be available for the S22 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra starts at $1,199 in the US and ÂŁ1,249 in the UK, making it a premium-priced handset. Additionally, Samsung Online offers exclusive editions of the Samsung Galaxy Ultra S23 with Graphite, Lime, Sky Blue, and Red.
