Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event follows a tradition of revealing new smartphones and other gadgets. The 2023 iteration of Samsung’s next event is rumored to be scheduled for late July. This year’s event is expected to unveil a range of its best next-generation foldables yet, like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The electronics giant is also expected to launch its next-generation smartwatches including Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic and the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra.
The late July time frame indicates that Samsung’s unveiling event is ahead of time this year as compared to transpiring in August 2022. In February, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event held in San Francisco introduced three models of the Galaxy S23 series, laptops and more.

In the last decade, the multinational electronics conglomerate has held this event in prominent cities like London, Berlin, New York, and Barcelona with Las Vegas being the first one to score in 2010. This is the first time that Samsung will be hosting in Seoul. Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is set to take place in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul’s Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in Samseong-dong.

If the rumor mill is to be believed, the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 26th, 2023 where foldables are showcased in different cities that align closely with the designated theme. Last year’s event revealed Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 and 2023 is expected to disclose Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5’s launch date.

While the excitement mounts for the Galaxy Unpacked event, people are eager to know the specs of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Pricing And Color
Based on the rumor mill, the expected indication of the pricing of Galaxy Z Fold 5 ranges between $1,799 – $1,899 analogous to its predecessor, Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to arrive available in five vibrant colors – Platinum, Light Blue, Black, Beige, and Blue.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Display, Design, and Performance
If the rumors reckon to be true, the screens of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will cradle a 6.2-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display. Based on the previous models, both screens will hold refresh rates of 120Hz.
But a surprising upgrade in both the latest additions of Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the novel ‘hinge’. The hinge is reported to be a water droplet-like shape which will allow the screens to fold without any gap between the two sides, making the screen crease almost redundant. This mechanism of a ‘dumbbell type’ hinge was patented by Samsung in 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specs unfolded so far promise better durability of the foldable phone while there are also claims that this phone will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
The processor of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to trail behind the Galaxy S23 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The dust and water resistance is anticipated to feature an IP58 rating.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Camera Features
The predecessor of Galaxy Z Fold 5 equalized the camera specifications of the foldable series to Samsung’s older flagship phones. The rear sensors on the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus were used in Galaxy Z Fold 4’s cameras.
Two rumors are floating around for Galaxy Z Fold 5’s camera specifications.
One rumor has it that the Fold 5 would be upgraded to a 108MP main camera, a 64MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter.
The other rumor rebukes these camera features of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and claims that it will follow its predecessor’s footprint of a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP outer selfie camera, a 4MP under-display inner camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom. Albeit, the new image sensors will result in superior image quality.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 rumors have long-indulged in an obvious upgrade demand for greater battery life. Only Seoul’s Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2023 will unveil the rest.
