The Animal Crossing New Horizons update will be released on Nintendo Switch. The first wave of the Animal Crossing summer update is scheduled to be released on July 3 on Nintendo Switch platform. Nintendo announced the swimming update news on Twitter: “Dive into some fun new activities (literally!) With the next update for #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons, coming 03/07!

When the new Animal Crossing swimming update goes live, players will be able to indulge in activities like swimming and diving for new treasures. “Easily grab a wet suit and get aquatically acquainted with the island and marine life. Arrive at Animal Crossing: New Horizons by swimming and diving,” reads the Nintendo description. “Swim in the luring waters off the coast of the island and dive to discover and redeem new sea creatures that inhabit the island’s ecosystem. Keep yourself posted and peeled for any prospective additions to the museum, and look out for fun facts from Blathers while donating the discoveries.

In addition to activities like swimming and diving, the summer update also adds other new characters. While swimming for new sea creatures, players might come across popular Animal Crossing character Pascal the otter.

They can also share their discoveries with Pascal and might end up with some new mermaid-themed recipes. “The friendly visitor Pascal loves scallops, and if a player discovers one while diving, Pascal may ask you if he can have it,” Nintendo continues. “As a thank you, Pascal will also share some of the mermaid-themed DIY recipes.

Animal Crossing fans will be delighted to see a familiar face return to the game, with Gulliver back on the New Horizons. “After downloading the free update, a familiar face in the form of Gulliver will occasionally wash up on the shore, though it’s slightly different with pirate-like clothing. Offer Gulliver a helping hand, and he will send a special reward to show his gratitude.”

The Animal Crossing swimming update will also add new bugs and creatures for discovering in the game. Second summer update is also in the pipeline.

General Updates to the Game:

  • Players can wear a wet suit outfit and go diving in the vast ocean.
  • Players can now easily catch sea creatures while diving, which they can then donate to the museum for keeps.
  • Players will now encounter new visiting characters on the island.
  • Nook Miles can now be traded for newer items.
  • New items have been added to the Nook Shopping catalogue, which is available for a limited time.

The new update fixed many technical and other issues of the game to give players an enjoyable gaming experience.
